PAYPOWER VISA CARD REBRANDED AS PAYPOWER MASTERCARD

Effective December 15, 2016, the existing PayPower Visa Card will be discontinued for sale in all participating stores. You can still spend down the balance on your card or obtain funds from an ATM machine until March 22, 2017.
The current PayPower Visa program is being discontinued. However, to ensure that you continue to have access to all the convenience of a reloadable prepaid product, you can request a new PayPower product that is issued by Home Trust – the PayPower Reloadable MasterCard - by visiting this site. Alternatively, you can click here to find a participating retailer in your area to purchase a card instore.
The last date to use your PayPower Visa Card is March 22, 2017.
The last day to register your PayPower Visa Card is January 11, 2017.
The last date to apply for a PayPower Reload Pack is January 11, 2017.
Call us at 1 (866) 215-3758 and we'll send you a refund cheque. Please make sure to have your reload pack number, and receipt available so we can look-up the transaction.
You will be able to access your account information online until March 22, 2017. We suggest you download your transaction history before that date and keep it. After March 22, 2017, please call us at 1 (866) 215-3758 and we'll do our best to help.
You can spend down the balance on your card or obtain funds from an ATM machine until March 22, 2017. If you have a remaining balance after that date, call us at 1 (866) 215-3758 and we'll do our best to help. Alternatively, you can also transfer your balances to the new Mastercard program when you request a new card. Request a new card today.
After March 22, 2017, companies that currently take any payments from your card will no longer be able to do so. You must contact those companies to let them know that you are cancelling the recurring payment. Although the current PayPower Visa card is being discontinued, you can take advantage of the convenience of a reloadable prepaid product under the PayPower program by applying for a new PayPower Reloadable MasterCard that is issued by Home Trust. You can set up automatic payments on your new card.

The new PayPower MasterCard program still has the same great features you’re used, but we’ve added a few product enhancements to help you take full advantage of digital services. Our features now include:
- In-Store Electronic Reload – Reload packs are a thing of the past. With the PayPower Reloadable MasterCard Prepaid Card, you simply hand your card to the cashier who will scan your card in front of you. The funds are applied in real time. Click here to locate a participating retailer near you.
- Auto Top Ups – Now you can set up auto top-ups with any debit card to load funds automatically to your prepaid card balance.
- Move Money – Move money from one PayPower MasterCard to any other PayPower MasterCard with our newly added Move Money feature.

You can hand your card to the cashier at a participating retailer who will scan your card in front of you. The funds are applied in real time. Click here to locate a participating retailer near you. Alternatively you can top up your funds online.
USING MY PAYPOWER CARD
After registration, you can use the PayPower Card to obtain cash from any Automated Teller Machine (ATM) with the Visa acceptance mark. All ATM transactions are treated as cash withdrawals. You will need to enter your PIN number when prompted, and select “chequing” to access money. A fee applies to each ATM transaction in addition to any fees the ATM terminal owner may impose.
After registering your card, login to your card account online and select Account Settings under the My Account tab to choose a new PIN.
We recommend taking your Card inside to the gas station cashier to pay.
Yes, but some merchants may place a “hold” in excess of your purchase amount When the total amount due is unknown (for example when you check into a hotel), merchants have the right to pre-authorize the purchase, which puts a hold on the funds. A restaurant, for example, might hold an additional 20% to cover whatever you tip authorize.
Many websites and/or merchants require your security code (3 digit security code on back of card near signature panel). See the example below to find your CVV code:
CALL US IMMEDIATELY AT 1 (866) 215-3758 if your card is lost or stolen. After you cancel your PayPower Card, a replacement card with the remaining balance minus a $9.95 replacement fee will be mailed to you. As long as the lost or stolen PayPower Visa Prepaid Card is reported immediately, you will not be responsible for any unauthorized charges (Note: full reimbursement of any fraudulent charges is provided through the Visa Zero Liability Policy* (see disclosure below for more information). We reserve the right to review any disputed charges based on our risk policy).

- Your name, address, and phone number
- Your prepaid card account number
- A description of the error or the transaction you are unsure about. Explain as clearly as you can why you believe it is an error or why you need more information.
- The dollar amount of the suspected error

There are no overdraft fees. The PayPower Card is a prepaid card – you can only spend the money you have loaded on the card.
ONLINE ACCESS AND ALERTS
Visit www.paypower.ca to activate and register your card online and set up online access. You will complete the registration process and be prompted to input your email address and choose a password. You will use this information to login and access your card information online.
With alerts, you automatically get a text message* and/or email when specified card account activity occurs.
*Standard text messaging rates from your wireless service provider may apply.
You can choose from any or all of the following alerts:
- Daily balance alert
- Weekly balance alert
- Transaction alerts – approved or declined transactions, loads, bill payments, etc.
- Service alerts – password changes, PIN changes, etc.
You can update or change your preferences at any time by logging into your card account.
Note: If you choose to receive text messages, standard text messaging fees may apply.
You can sign up for alerts by logging into your card account online and selecting Account Settings under the My Account tab at www.paypower.ca .
Once you've registered your card, you can send money to another PayPower cardholder or receive money from another PayPower cardholder using this feature. It is the quickest, easiest way to send cash to another PayPower cardholder. To send money, simply add recipients to your contact list, select them, enter the amounts to send, and the funds are instantly deducted from your PayPower Card balance and credited to theirs.
